Cancer Blog #5

I stayed the night and half the next day in the hospital - mostly in a drugged haze and got lots of lovely rest.  Everything went textbook.  No complications and Johann and the girls took me home that night.  We spent the next days just relaxing at our apartment.  Johann cooked and kept the girls busy.  He put up a beautiful Christmas tree and covered the bottom with presents! It felt just like a regular family vacation!

Christmas day came and we spent the day as we usually do, celebrating God's greatest gift to us, His son, and enjoying the gifts we gave each other!

I spent a few more days resting and got a little restless and ready for a little road trip, so we drove back to the beautiful village of Heidelberg to finish the shopping we wanted to do while we were there last time and picked up some lovely German souvenirs. And on New Years Day we drove 4 hours to Paris, France for a few days to kick off 2012 with a bang!  We know that all of God's blessings are not in the past and we anxiously look ahead to this new year to see what miracles and blessings He has in store for us!

Here's a picture of me from the morning of surgery right before I went in.
